This is one of Robert's "Electricity" paintings. These are paintings where Robert tries to make a strong visual, poetic and emotional effect with simple choices. These pieces often have a 'rain' of paint in one colour on the surface.
In this piece the background has strips of pinks, greens and blues. Even these simple backgrounds have a huge variation of tone and colour setting up a feast for the eye. On top of this the artist has painted his trademark "electric rain" that cascades down the canvas interacting with the background in a multitude of ways. When looking at the painting the artist thought it suddenly had the sense of a landscape with a soft pinky sunset, a vibrant green section of fields and a deep blue ocean.
While seemingly abstract the painting alludes to many things in the real world such as pouring, dripping rain and landscape. The title acknowledges this, in particular as the landscape reference may not appear instantly but is reward of more detailed looking.
