Robert moves between abstract and representational painting. Both are focused on a fascination with colour, space and cubism.
This painting derives from a small felt tip pen drawing of a cottage in Cornwall. The sense of space in the painting is bent in an almost Alice in Wonderland fashion in an attempt to warp our sense of space and time in a cubist like fashion. The strong violet and yellow colours give a sense of heightened intensity to this other worldly image that is both intense and beautiful.
