Robert moves between abstract and representational painting. Both are focused on a fascination with colour, space and cubism.

This painting derives from a small felt tip pen drawing of a cottage in Cornwall.

A thickly painted representational painting, although I think it still works on abstract art qualities. It's occurred to me that the way I’ve applied the paint is a bit like how Patrick Heron would make his wobbly hard-edged abstracts which is interesting. Hadn’t planned it but I like the result and that relationship.
